KidzCan Golf 2024
The KidzCan Golf Days have grown from a local tournament into a nationwide movement of hope, now held annually at premier courses in both Harare (Royal Harare and Borrowdale Brooke) and Bulawayo. These events unite corporate teams, individual enthusiasts, and professional golfers—including international stars like the Vincent brothers—around a single mission: ensuring no child in Zimbabwe fights cancer alone.

The Heart of the Green: Why We Play
For many, it’s a day of competitive play and networking, but for KidzCan, every swing is a step toward the Roadmap to 60—the global goal of reaching a 60% survival rate for childhood cancer by 2030. In 2024 alone, the Harare Golf Day raised over $22,000, funds that are immediately channeled into providing:
-
-
Chemotherapy & Life-Saving Medications: Filling the gap for families who cannot afford the high costs of treatment.
-
Diagnostics: Ensuring early detection, which is the most critical factor in surviving childhood cancer.
-
Family Support: Providing transport (bus fares) and nutritional aid for caregivers who travel from across the country to hospitals like Parirenyatwa and Mpilo.
-
A Growing Tradition in Harare & Bulawayo
The expansion to Bulawayo reflects KidzCan’s commitment to supporting children in the southern region. By hosting events at iconic locations like the Bulawayo Golf Club or partnering with regional stakeholders, KidzCan ensures that the business communities in both cities can play a direct role in the fight.
The format typically follows a 4-Ball Alliance, encouraging teamwork and camaraderie. Corporate sponsors often “adopt” a hole, using the space to show their brand’s solidarity with our young warriors.
The “Vincent Effect”
The tournament’s profile has been further elevated by Zimbabwean pro-golfers Scott and Kieran Vincent. Their partnership with KidzCan—donating for every birdie and eagle they make on the international LIV Golf circuit—serves as a constant inspiration to local golfers that their hobby can truly save lives.
