A Mother’s Agony, A Son’s Resilience
In 2020, Ronald, then ten and in grade 5, encountered a life-altering situation. His family, the Moyos, faced an unimaginable predicament when he was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer. The family found themselves at a crossroads, grappling with the daunting decision of whether to amputate Ronald’s leg—a decision that no parent should ever have to make. For two and a half agonizing years, the family wrestled with this heart-wrenching choice, hoping for an alternative, a miracle that would spare Ronald from losing a part of himself.

“Ronald’s journey is a powerful reminder that cancer does not have the final say. By choosing life through courage, he has transformed his pain into a purpose. Today, he doesn’t just look back at his survival; he looks forward to a career in medicine where he can be the healer for the next generation of children in Zimbabwe.”
They immersed themselves in a season where they believed they could pray away cancer, yet the Creator was involved all the way, even in what eventually happened.
In their darkest moment, the Moyo family found hope in KidzCan, as we stood with them, providing vital drugs, psychosocial support, and other critical resources.
